First Three Days

Hallo EVERYONE!!! It's Sister Losee!!! I have survived three days in the MTC!! Man do I have some things to say about my time here. First of all: The days are ETERNAL!! You feel like the day last FOREVER and NEVER ends. Yet you still feel like you don't have enough time to do what has been asked of you.

I can't even tell you guys how many times I have said to myself (and aloud): I wish I was speaking English!!! Wednesday was probably one of the most confusing days of my WHOLE life!! I am still getting used to the rules and the times and places and expectations and meetings. That all wouldn't be so bad, but then our Teacher ONLY talks to us in German and it is just super crazy right now.

On Friday we taught our first lesson to an investigator .... in GERMAN!! It went... hmm... how would you say it went? Not very well. haha my companion and I basically read everything we said off of note cards, the prayer was two sentences long and we basically went away telling him he is a child of God and that Himmlischer Vater loves him. (Heavenly Father) It was super funny when we tried to talk about the Holy Ghost and I only said Geist (ghost) and he went : Geist? Like Ooooh oooh and he raised his arms and acted like a ghost. So Markus just might believe that if you join our church a ghost will be haunting you!

I totally forget to mention some important stuff:

1.My companion is Sister Racca and she is very nice and we actually get along. Day one she told me that I looked like I would be super shy and wouldn't talk, but I'm the opposite. (sometimes I talk too much). She struggles with the language and is kind of slow at everything but that is okay.

2.My residence is on the fourth floor. THAT is a lot of stairs to walk everyday.

3.The food is GREAT and I need to not eat a lot or else I will be fat.

4.Sister Racca and I got called as sister Training Leaders. Things just got a lot more stressful. We have to do interviews for all the sisters and we carry around a phone in case the front desk needs to contact the sisters. Oh and we have to teach the lesson in Relief Society on Sunday as well as prepare a talk in German. And we just have more meetings. It's a little scary and I feel like I'm probably not the best person for the calling, but the Lord knows best I guess. I'm just glad Sisters can't be zone leaders hahaha. So to show that we shouldn't be in charge examples:
      1. We forget/lose everything!! Especially Sister Racca, she is the MASTER of losing things. She has lost her bag, her swipe card (multiple occasions) and her keys and other miscellaneous items. It's pretty funny though.
      2. On Night one they take you on a tour and the sister training leaders who took us on a tour thought they LOST us and so that was pretty good hahaha.

5.I am doing GREAT! Friday was a really hard day, not going to lie. I got VERY discouraged with the language and with trying to teach in a language I can barely understand, let alone speak. But I am happy and good.

My district is awesome, we sometimes have too much fun. It's hard to balance the hours and hours of serious study with fun and joking. But I love my district and my teacher Sister Mucke (aka Sister Mosquito in German) is fun and has a sweet spirit. She is from Germany and just wants us to succeed.

Love you EVERYONE!! (sorry for the novel)

Wish me luck as I have to teach ANOTHER lesson to Markus in German tonight!!

Love,

Sister Losee

p.s. apparently you need to buy a special connector thing to put your SD card in to get your pictures loaded onto the computer. So sister Racca and I need to go buy them and pictures will be later today!!
