What did we do all week?

Man. So looking back we had a crappy week. We had like no lessons.
Everyone canceled. Who we thought was going to be a new investigator that we klingled ended up rejecting us and so that was disappointing. But somehow it was a really good week and it went by really fast.  Oh TRUNK OR TREAT!!!! Perk about being in the international ward. Weird American holidays. But the funniest part is that all the non Americans got WAY more into it than the Americans. I really wish I had pictures. It was awesome. Except for the fact that none of the hundreds of investigators and less actives showed up. BUT a ward family invited non member friends and that was a success! So that was the bomb.

Also we showed up for a dinner appointment and they invited their non member neighbor over last minute and we taught the first lesson as our spiritual thought. Hopefully something happens!

Ummm. Oh we did splits and I spent 24 hours away from sister Jenkins.
It was weird. But a cool miracle happened! I was with sister Siems and we were klingling an area and we went through a huge apartment and not a single person responded!!! So unreal! We we're having no success and no one to even talk to. Then we get to a hidden apartment and an old lady LETS US IN!!! No one ever lets you in!!! And she talked to us and is awesome!!!! Sadly she is German and the sister training leaders but ahhh!! It was awesome !

Also we were doing another street display and I was getting super discouraged with my German (because I don't get to speak it very often) and I wasn't understanding anyone and no one was even taking my hand out cards. Well suddenly Heavenly Father gives me a tender mercy and sent this super nice guy who wasn't interested in church but was willing to just talk to me in German !! We had a great conversation and I gave him a family history card.

Also just a word for our investigator Alex. He is awesome. Every week he shows up to church wearing nicer things. This week he showed up in a velvet suit jacket and a vest. It was the cutest thing ever. I'm so excited for him to be baptized.

Well that's all for this week!! Ahhh week 5 is starting!!!!

Bonnie commented that she shouldn't be let out wearing this outfit, but I think she looks so huggable.

Your Girlfriends Coat

Hope everyone has had a great week! I'm having lots of fun but working hard here! I love Sister Jenkins my companion and it's the best.

Miracle of the week: we went to go and have our first lesson with a lady named Monica and We we're so excited to finally meet her! (partially because it took us almost three weeks just to set up the appointment!) We go and klingle at the building and no answer!!! We call the phone number we had for her and her husband answers and says: she's busy and basically tells us bug off. It was super sad. So we went and were debating whether to go visit someone else or do some dooring (or klingling here) and I felt really strongly that we should stay and klingle some buildings. We started and were having no success. So I thought to myself. (4th floor last door) so we kept going. (Mind you it really had only been 25 min so not that long) while we were plodding on we suddenly got a phone call. IT WAS FROM MONICA!! It turns out she had been asleep and she called us to say she was sorry and if we could still come by!! We said YES we are literally only a two minute walk away!! Then we had a great lesson and learned about her life and it was great. She had already read to 2 Nephi all by herself! She had many questions and i feel that with a lot of work and prayer that she is totally ready to receive the gospel!!

Um we have had lots of run ins with Jehovah witnesses and they are crazy and they hate us. That's all.

Oh how can I Forget!! I had to give a talk on Sunday and I was TERRIFIED! I was very scared for a repeat of my singles ward talk. And I did NOT want to do that while members of the 70 and area 70 members present.  Good news. I succeeded. It wasn't a failure and I didn't embarrass myself!! Although everyone thinks I looks 12-15 years old. It's awful.
This week we had zone training! It was really cool and then I got to see Sister Case again!!

Sister Losee

Oh I forgot to explain the title of my email!! So in Europe lots of men have coats with fur on the hoods and Sister Jenkins and I think it's funny and so we have started counting how many we see every day!  One day we got up to 30!!!

190 Banana Boxes

So I only have a couple minutes to email. So short and sweet but we got to do a service project and help some random guy move. We show up at his house and he is like. Yeah I'm so glad you are all here to help. I have about 190 banana boxes full of things!!! It was ridiculous. In the words of Elder Sommer (bananas saved his life) hahahahaha it honestly a miracle we moved and packed everything in the time we had. It was awesome. We are pretty sure he will one day be converted to the church hahahahahaha.

So miracle of the week that I liked and wanted to share. We were having our first lesson with a guy and he brought his friend along.(Alex and Ben)  And honestly it wasn't going too well. Plus it was my first lesson taking the lead and I was struggling. Well suddenly a member walks into the church and we ask him to bear his testimony and the spirit was so strong. Then we extended the baptismal invitation.... AND THEY SAID YES!!!!! It was awesome!!! Ahhh members are seriously so helpful and just the best!!

I gotta go. But Germany is cool and my life is pretty great. Although I am going  to be soooo fat from all the pastries and chocolates I eat.

Love sister Losee.

Getting lost is the best!

Beware: THIS IS A MINI NOVELLA READ AT OWN RISK BUT IF ALL FAILS READ THE MIRACLE AT THE END

So I have arrived ! It is super weird!!! Traveling was super long and it was psychedelic coming in on a Tuesday when you had left Utah on a Monday morning. I lost eight hours of my life!!! Hahahaha but I will get them back when I return to Utah in 17 months or so.

I got to talk to my family so that was cool. Atlanta was crazy. The airport is so huge and we had to run across the whole airport so fast because of boarding times. It was crazy. Also I had no idea you had to take public transportation from the mtc to the airport. It was stressful. But good warm up for the mission field.

The last day in the MTC was super bittersweet. Saying goodbye to the Berlin missionaries was pretty sad.

So I guess everyone is wondering where I am if you don't know already.
But I got called to the Frankfurt International area! I am literally in Frankfurt and I'm serving in the international ward. Not gonna lie.
I was a little disappointed at first. It was kind of sad seeing everyone leave to different parts of the country on s bahns and trains while I just took a strasse bahns and bus ten minutes away to our apartment. Also. Since we are international. We are speaking English.
So that was disappointing at first. But my area is seriously awesome.
Also bonus point: Elder Cambell from my district is in my district too! He's the international Elder!!

My companion: Her name is Sister Jenkins, she literally just finished training and she is the best. She is so kind and we can just randomly laugh at stuff together. Also she just loves missionary work. So it makes the days so much more fun.

So more about my area and being international :

My first dinner appointment was a Portuguese family. So I got a Portuguese meal. And we will be getting a meal from Ghana this week and we work with people from all over the world. Europe is awesome.
Son,any people from so many different places all over and just so many people. It's crazy. Oh and I've only been able to meet a couple of the members because of general conference but they seem AWESOME! There are some people from Britain that have two sons out on missions and they seem awesome. There are also Australian and Philippine and Russian and African and a lady from Jamaica and its awesome.

While I haven't gotten any member made German food. I have gotten street food. I had curry wurst and döner and tons of pastries and a kinder egg and a sandwich and it's fantastic.

So we are super busy here and have tons of people to teach and talk to and work with. But the funny thing is is that I feel like I spend all my time just riding public transportation. We ride s bahns u bahns strasse bahns and I even got to ride a normal train. It's crazy. I'm trying to become so good at riding the public transport that I don't always almost fall over.

So I am lost. All the time. We are constantly bus and bahn hopping all the time. It amazes me how sister Jenkins knows how to get everywhere.
Also there is no better feeling than washing your hands after all that public transport. Basically Frankfurt to me is a cleaner more European New York. Except I haven't been to New York so you know.

Okay so Europe. There toilets and doorknobs are weird. Hahahaha I want to take a picture. Oh and their light switches. Um what more.
Cobblestone sidewalks EVERYWHERE it's awesome. Oh and everything is so cute. I don't see tons of the old old German stuff because I'm in the city but it's pretty cool. Plus I still get out enough because the international ward boundaries are huge!! Our area goes out of the zone!!! We are super cool.

MIRACLE STORY:

So super cool miracle I had happen. Apparently there is a lady in the ward who hadn't been to church in a couple months. But no one could get a hold of her. Last week my comp and her old comp happened to catch her at a perfect time last week and set up an appointment for Saturday at 2:00. So we head over and it is pretty far out of town and we are running late and we get a to go sand which at a little stand because we hadn't eaten yet (too busy) and we were running late.
Sister Jenkins had been there s couple times before and was like: I know the way there. So we start walking and suddenly sister Jenkins says. I have no idea where we are. We try using an app on the iPad but it wasn't working. So we try backtracking  a little and ask someone for directions and by the time we walk up to her door it is 2:30. We ring the door and she's not home!!! So we try and call her and are just standing there for a minute or two to see what is happening. And then she walks up!! Turns out she had forgotten about us and had been at a party. We go inside and talk then we had a small though prepared but sister Jenkins suddenly changed it. It was just what she needed!
she ends up telling us everything that is going on and why she is questioning her faith and hasn't been to church and then agreed to work with us for the next six weeks to try and figure out what is wrong and how she can strengthen her faith. ITS AWESOME!!! Then as we headed back to the train station we took the way back we had originally took to get to her house and it worked!!! Heavenly Father really must have wanted us to be there.

Well. Everyone. I love you all!!! I'm happy!! Being a missionary is awesome!!! So much fantastic stuff. Don't worry my future emails won't be so long.
