Feeding God's sheep

The week of craziness I would say!!! We have been constantly on the go and can't seem to find time for everything we need to get done. But as a missionary that's really good. But exhausting. Today i am very very appreciative to have a pday!!

Something exciting from this week: sister Clifford and I have started running in the mornings sometimes and so we are kind of adventuring and trying to find out good running routes. Well on Tuesday morning we found sheep! They were super nice sheep and we fed them grass. We Look forward to running a lot more now!

Sunday was an adventure. We needed to pick up an investigator so we had to leave our apartment at 7:30 to take Transportation to church and get there at 9:15. Then we went to a members home with the investigator and taught a lesson and had dinner. It's pretty interesting getting investigators to members homes, because half our investigators speak English but a lot of members don't speak English or it's just not the best English. And let me tell you. African English is not normal English. So it's makes for weird adventures every day.

Alright. So cool stories for the week. We met a really cool family while street contacting and where able to give them a Book of Mormon!
I love that feeling. We also met with our 16 year old miracle investigator. She is so cute!!! At the end of our lesson she asked us where she could buy longer skirts at!! (We didn't even mention
anything) she is so cute though and is really trying to pray and read the a book of mormon so she can know if God really is there. She was also commenting about how she feels a little funny praying sometimes because she feels like she is just talking to herself sometimes. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to grow up in the gospel and have God be such a central part of my life. Sometimes I forget how weird us Mormons really are to the rest of the world. And yes. About a third of the people we talk to it feels like they think we are Amish.

Last funny story. So last week we talked to a 75 year old man who was WAY too interested in me and kept saying weird comments and just really wanted to go dancing with me. Well. We thought we would never see him again. But NO. Halfway through church on Sunday he shows up!!!
At church!!!! It was sooooooo uncomfortable and awkward hahahahahaha.
He wanted to just go in the gym and dance. He then wanted to take me out to eat at a super fancy restaurant and it was very very very awkward. So we hurry and rope the Elders and get them to try and talk to him separately. Yeah. He had no interest in the gospel so he just left. Oh and also. Apparently he thought i was Russian?

Oh yes and one more thing. This week we taught a lesson at the church and had a 95 year old as our member present. She is soooo cute! I highly recommend it. :) Sister Losee

P.s. Today we went to a really cool palace for pday!!! We walked around the grounds and went on an awesome tour!!! Sometimes I really do forget that I'm in Germany.

Princess Losee

This is trippy. So transfers happened on Tuesday and Sister Balls got moved to Bamberg. But SURPRISE!! They turned the köln sisters into elders. So sister Tait got moved and sister Clifford and I became companions and we are in Leverkusen. So basically it feels like we are on a very long split right now hahahahahaha.

This week was good. On Sunday we had the coolest miracle! A sixteen year old girl came to church all by herself because she was curious about the church! Apparently she learned about our church through some LDS vloggers!!! We met with her on Wednesday and she is so willing to learn and genuinely wants to know about our church and loves the ideas of eternal families and wants to have a family that is righteous and doesn't participate in drugs and alcohol. Which I think is so cool and unusual here.

Ummm. Last pday we went to the chocolate factory!!! That was really fun! We learned all about how Lindt chocolate is made and all about the cocoa bean. Maybe slightly boring. But the chocolate was fantastic!

On Saturday we did a power split with the STLs. We got up and went directly to Duisburg and I went with sister Voightlander and and sister Balls went with The other stl and we just stayed in Duisburg.
It was fun, but a little stressful because we then had to rush and come back to köln for an appointment with Kevin. So all together it was only a 6 hour split instead of the normal 24 hours.

Sunday was really fun. We went to an old lady in the wards house for lunch and she is just so cute and so loving. The old Germans in our ward are just basically so cute!!!

Today we went and hiked to a castle!!!! It's called Drachenfeld (dragon field). It's just ruins but it was still really fun! I was definitely a princess.
Oh yeah!! And yesterday we had a ward council and I actually understood about 90% of it!!!!!! And I spoke in it!!! That was for sure a highlight. My German is slowly but surely improving!!

Well. Here goes to a new Transfer in Leverkusen(Köln) with Sister Clifford! I'm excited for all of the miracles we will see!! Also.
Yes!!! Warm weather!!! I am so excited!!!!

The Plague has departed!!

Guten Tag!
Hallo my beautiful friends and family! This week was more of a normal missionary week and Sister Balls is feeling so much better. Which really does make the work easier. I feel like a lot of stuff has happened this week. First off, last week for pday we went to a cool museum by the Dom(Cathedral) and were able to look around and see some really cool stuff. I've missed museums. I really have.
Then we had a really cool lesson with Kasim. We talked about temples and all of the blessings that can be found there. He then said "I want to go there one day!" And we of course said. "YOU CAN!"
On Friday we went to lunch with a Persian recent convert and his niece. He wanted us to talk to his niece about the church and give her a Book of Mormon. It went really well!! She doesn't live in Germany.
But we were able to give her the Book and just talk to her. She was so cute. also. He took us to his favorite Persian restaurant. I got to try some very interesting Persian foods.
We also had stake conference this week. It was really good! They had many speakers that gave short talks and mostly bore testimony. I really liked how they did it that way. The spirit was very strong.
This week we had a very cool miracle! We came across one of the Elders old investigators on a bus. We ended up setting an appointment with him. When we met with him, by the end of the lesson he was asking us when the next baptism was. We now have him set up for baptismal date!
This week we also went by and visited the one and only Schwester Hoen!!! She is 95 years old and still lives by herself. She is so funny and amazing. One day I asked her what she had done that day. She responded. I didn't do too much. But I ate a lot!!! Also she LOVES chocolate and pudding. Basically she is just purely adorable.

That's about it for this email. Oh wait!  My brother got married on Saturday. I am so happy for him and Maddy!  If anyone has any pictures or stories about it I would love to see/hear them! Hahahaha while they were getting married I was at a new investigators house from Ghana eating Fufu and watching her friends son who looks exactly like Little Bill pretend to be Spider-Man. I call that a successful day. :)

Love you all! Have a great week!

P.s. Transfer calls are this week!?!?! Man this Transfer went by fast.

March Madness started early!!!

Happy March my friends! The cold month of February has passed and spring is actually starting to peek it's head around the corner!!!!!

(Picture evidence here provided)

I have heard Germany is beautiful in spring and that wild flowers are everywhere. So I am very excited!!
This week was Karneval. It basically felt like the alcoholic week long version of Halloween. People were dressed up every day from last Thursday until Tuesday. There were countless parades and endless supplies of alcohol. So that's what led up to our first weird experience of the week. On Friday sister Balls started to get really sick. We had some meetings at the church and she napped for a while until we had our dinner appointment. She was starting to feel worse, and let me tell you, German's take sickness very very seriously. So we met up with the other sisters at 7:30 at night and the member drove sister Balls and sister Clifford home so sister Balls could sleep and sister trait and I went on splits and went into Köln because we had a lesson planned with our baptismal date investigator Kasim. (He's super cool by the way). After the lesson it was decided by everyone that by the time we returned to Leverkusen and the Köln
Sisters returned back to Köln. It would be WAY too late, especially because of Karneval. It's not a good idea. So we went on a very spontaneous (president approved) split and I spent the night in Köln.  Hahahahahaha I didn't have any way to preserver my contacts and I didn't have glasses. So the next day I walked around half blind for a while.
(Sister Tait has glasses I borrowed.... but her vision isn't as bad as mine)

On Saturday night we were at a Baptism for the Elders and sister Balls was not feeling well. So the ward members drove us home (Natürlich) and severely threatened sister Balls if she came to church. So Sunday was a sick day and we stayed in the apartment.

Monday came and Sister Balls still felt bad. So we went on splits with the other sisters for half the day so I could go out a little bit. Sister Tait stayed and took care of my companion. I went with sister Clifford and we had a very interesting lunch appointment and just did a ton of Finding. It was really good. Spoke to some really cool people and got a couple potentials! Then, we of course had to celebrate Karneval, so we got Döners for dinner!

Ummm. Wednesday we had zone training. That was fun. I always love seeing all the other missionaries and we had interviews with president. I'll be honest I was terrified for my interview with president. But this time when he asked me if I had questions and what was up with my life we just were able to casually talk and it was super good!

Oh yeah.  P day last week!!! Last week for pday we went to the three corners!!! It's like four corners in America. But way cooler. It's where the borders of Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands meet! A ward member drove us up there. It was really fun and we got hot chocolate and it was good.
That was about it for my week. I hope everyone has a wonderful first week of March!!

Thought for the week: "The journey of discipleship is not an easy one. It has been called a “course of steady improvement.” As we travel along that straight and narrow path, the Spirit continually challenges us to be better and to climb higher. The Holy Ghost makes an ideal traveling companion. If we are humble and teachable, He will take us by the hand and lead us home. However, we need to ask the Lord for directions along the way. We have to ask some difficult questions, like “What do I need to change?” “How can I improve?” “What weakness needs strengthening?”.....The Holy Ghost really does give customized counsel. He is a completely honest companion and will tell us things that no one else knows or has the courage to say." Elder Larry R. Lawrence

Sometimes we want to be better and be the perfect follower of Christ we can be, so we decide what we need to work on and set goals on how to be that perfect follower. But I've also noticed that when we do that we sometimes set too many goals and too hard of goals to all do at once and then we feel like failures when we can't met all of our goals. We feel like we are worse off than we were before. That's why we need to ask the Lord. He knows exactly what we need to do and how we can be better.
Have a great week! I have you all love!!!
